Alexandra Horowitz, author of the best-selling book, Inside of a Dog received her Ph.D. in cognitive science at the University of California at San Diego after having had a successful career on staff at the New Yorker.
She has studied the cognition of humans, rhinoceros, bonobos, and dogs. She is currently testing anthropomorphisms made of the domestic dog through experiments with dogs in natural settings.
Dr. Horowitz has been teaching at Barnard in New York City since 2004 and is an adjunct professor at Hunter College.
